COBS Bread was launched in 2003, with the opening of the Edgemont Village bakery in Vancouver, BC. Its opening team included a bunch of Aussies who had travelled from a far but fell in love with our beautiful British Columbia.

COBS Bread is a young, energetic company with high ambitions dedicated to providing the community with the best and freshest bread possible.

We opened our doors in Squamish on July 26, 1996. The founders of the business were Stephen Shard, David Fenn and the Fenn Family. Stephen Shard left the company in 2001, and today the company remains a family-owned enterprise.

We operate out of a beautiful, wooden craft style building, built for our purposes. The inn consists of a pub, restaurant, banquet room, 20 guest rooms and microbrewery. The brewery distributes products under the Howe Sound name to over 300 stores and pubs in British Columbia. In 2009, we began shipments of our beer to the United States and Alberta.

“Marble Slab Creamery began its story in Houston, Texas in 1983. We started with an unusually high set of standards and a goal to bring the exquisite taste of fresh-made gourmet ice cream to fellow aficionadas. Our recipe for Sweet Cream ice cream was developed by two French chefs; and it is that recipe that we use to this day! This dedication to a gourmet ice cream experience led to the development of the now famous “frozen slab” technique for ice cream preparation.

Open in the spring of 2005, River’s Bend is a family owned and operated boutique winery located on 30 acres of pastoral farmland alongside the winding banks of the Serpentine River in South Surrey, BC.  Planted in 1992 in a gem of a microclimate, the winery’s 15 acre vineyard yields many grape varieties.  The grapes are grown using natural farming methods, the wines gently handcrafted and bottled at their peak to preserve their delicate aroma and flavour.
