Our Mission
Semiahmoo House Society, a non-profit organization located in Surrey/White Rock, exists to provide quality services and support to people with disabilities and their families in the community.
Our Philosophy
The Semiahmoo House Society is committed to the provision of highest quality community-based services for individuals who have a developmental disability.
We believe that each individual has the right to those services, which will enable him or her to participate—to the greatest extent possible—in the same activities of daily life as a non-handicapped peer. We further believe that other rights—to liberty, personal freedom, dignity and meaningful life—can be enhanced and protected by ensuring that individuals have strongly dedicated personal, family and service delivery support systems in place.
Our Goal
To provide the BEST services to the MOST people for the LEAST amount of money. We are committed to supporting the best quality of life for our clients possible in the most cost-effective, efficient manner possible.
Rec & Leisure Services
Recreation and Leisure Services provides both out of school care and recreation and leisure opportunities to individuals with developmental disabilities. Our service philosophy is such that ‘We strive to provide a safe and fun environment that enables our participants to access the community, to express themselves creatively, learn new and exciting things, while having the opportunity to make friends!’
Our Recreation & Leisure program is just one of the many programs we offer at our society, however this particular program receives no government assistance and therefore we must rely on parent fees, donations and fundraising initiatives, such as “A Taste of BC’s Finest” for its survival. Your support for this event will help us to raise much needed funding for this program.
